Shift in perspective

A simple observation. Two Italian men walking through the streets of Firenze in the evening, lost in conversation. I noticed them from a distance and, almost without thinking, picked up my camera and followed them for a few meters. There was something about the moment that made me want to hold onto it. Then, click. At that exact moment, one of the men turned around.
There are moments when you press the shutter and somehow know that the photograph will stay with you. This was one of them. Nothing was planned, and nothing needed to happen, but it did happen. It was a small moment that appeared in front of my eyes, and for a brief second, I was fully present to see it.
What makes this photograph even more special to me is that it was one of the last photographs I took with my Leica Q3 43. It became a quiet marker of change, a shift in how I wanted to approach photography. If I wanted to be truly intentional and present with my camera, there was only one direction that felt right. 転機 | Tenki — a turning point
The M embodies what Silent Interiors stands for. Intention, awareness, and presence. There is almost nothing between what I see and the photograph the camera creates. Every frame asks me to slow down, to focus, and to be fully present in the moment. With a manual focus camera, the act of making a photograph becomes deliberate and rewarding. I have to see, decide, and capture. For me, that is what photography is meant to be. Intentional and deeply connected to the moment itself. The M does not simply document what I see. It becomes part of the way I experience the world.
These photographs mark the end of an era for me. Until now, every photograph I have made has been taken with an autofocus camera. From this moment on, that changes. I am choosing to photograph with intention, to slow down, to focus, and to make every frame a conscious decision. In that sense, these photographs are more than just a collection of moments in Firenze. They are a final farewell to a camera that has been with me through so many of them. A last tribute to an incredible camera, the Leica Q3 43.
